Paths to Well-being

Creative and Somatic Integration

When working in a substance dependence rehab, I presented a group titled Kintsugi; in this we set out to bring the focus both to the experience of the fractured bowl, and simultaneously work on honoring the care and understanding which goes into the transformation into something unique and highly valuable. We all find ourselves somewhat underneath life’s more turbulent circumstances sometimes; the therapist becomes a trusted ally, one who can help bring a broader perspective. The golden fixing compound is awareness, and from that resilience grows, and new choices become clearer.

I immigrated to Nova Scotia in 2019 with my family. Here, as in the UK, I have worked with a range of client needs that I list below. I am licensed with the NSCCT and the UK's BACP, and my work is insured. For over two decades I have worked in a number of settings in the UK and Canada, supporting individuals and groups aged 12 years and above. My MA is in counselling and psychotherapy, and I have worked in local communities with a range of theoretical and in‑house training models, for government, charity, non‑profit organisations, and I have maintained my own practice throughout. My work is integrative with Gestalt as the basis, with a down‑to‑earth personality and compassionate, client‑led approach that is both honest and creative.
